What We Do

Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) provides and facilitates safe, culturally appropriate and affordable accommodation for Indigenous Australians who must live away from home to access services and economic opportunity.

AHL’s key vision is to improve Indigenous quality of life through the delivery of accommodation and wrap-around support services that give clients access to education, employment, health and other services. It does this informed by values of:

What We Offer

A diverse and inclusive workplace and attractive remuneration packages, including generous employer superannuation contributions, currently at 15.4% and Salary Packaging Program, including up to $15,900 per FBT Year for rent or mortgage payments.

Temporary Employment Register for Hospitality Roles

AHL’s purpose is to provide culturally safe, fit-for-purpose, affordable accommodation for Australian’s First Peoples who need to be away from home to access employment opportunities, health, education and other essential services.

AHL seeks to attract, develop and retain a diverse, enthusiastic and high-performing workforce.  To help us in achieving this, we maintain a register of interested applicants for temporary employment opportunities in our hospitality roles across Australia.  The temporary employment register enables us to source suitably skilled and experienced individuals on short notice for temporary (non-ongoing) employment opportunities for up to 18 months. Registered applications will remain active valid until 30 June 2020. This is a register of interest only.  There is no guarantee that an offer of employment will be made.

AHL offers great employment conditions including attractive remuneration packages, superannuation, salary sacrifice options and an opportunity for training and career advancement. AHL Salary Packaging Program includes a benefit of up to $15,900 per FBT year for mortgage, rent payments or living expenses, allowing staff to further reduce their tax payments, providing more net (take home) pay.

Eligibility - To be eligible for employment with AHL, applicants must meet AHL’s requirements for the following conditions:

  • Hold Australian citizenship;
  • Satisfactory National Criminal History Check;
  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check, where applicable;
  • Satisfactory Medical Assessment; and,
  • Satisfactorily complete a Probation period.
