Shonella is a Kulkalgal, Panai and Wuthathi woman and CPA accountant with more than 25 years’ experience in finance, data and statistics, cross-cutting policy and programs across the private and government sectors.
Prior to joining AHL, Shonella was Assistant Secretary First Nations Aged Care at the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. In this role, she oversaw national First Nations-specific aged care programs, policies and projects supporting culturally safe care for Elders and older people as part of the Aged Care Act 2024 reforms.
As General Manager Operations, Shonella leads a vital national workforce and program to support AHL’s purpose of providing culturally safe and affordable accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
