AHL is proud to present our 2026–27 Corporate Plan.
The plan sets out our purpose, key activities and strategic direction for the year ahead, while providing continuity as we finalise our new 10-year Strategy.
It reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, culturally safe and affordable accommodation and to ensuring AHL remains a trusted and sustainable organisation for generations to come.
Our national network spans 42 hostels across 22 locations in seven states and territories, offering 1,580 beds. In 2025–26, AHL accommodated an average of 1,236 residents each day in our health and medical, multipurpose and secondary education hostels.

Key activities planned for 2026–27
- Deliver accommodation: Provide culturally safe and affordable hostel accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Improve opportunities: Enhance quality of life and economic outcomes for First Nations people through targeted accommodation services.
- Maximise partnerships: Deepen engagement with First Nations organisations and local service providers.
- Maintain facilities: Implement an annual hostel maintenance program to ensure safe, comfortable environments for residents.
- Support national goals: Contribute directly to the priorities of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
With more than 50 years of service behind us, we are focused on ensuring AHL remains culturally strong, financially sustainable, operationally sound, and forward thinking. The 2026–27 Corporate Plan provides clear direction as we build on our strengths, respond to emerging challenges, and prepare for the future.
