On Friday 31 October 2025, Aboriginal Hostels Limited’s (AHL) Head of Boarding Kristy Hill, and the Grey Street Hostel team in Dubbo NSW, proudly won the Local Service of Year Award at the Dubbo Aboriginal Community’s NAIDOC Awards.
The Community NAIDOC Awards night in Dubbo provided an opportunity to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of First Nations culture in the local region. It was a chance for connecting, reflecting, learning more about the significance of NAIDOC Week and celebrating the contributions of First Nations people in the community.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy. The theme reflects the powerful role young leaders play in shaping the future. It is a role grounded in the vision of community and the legacy of those who have paved the way, including through tens of thousands of years of continuous culture and connection.
The AHL family is proud to see the team’s dedication and hard work recognised at this special occasion.
‘We were thrilled to accept this award, which acknowledges the caring service we provide in Dubbo for our First Nations young people, so they can be supported to have the best start in life,’ Kristy Hill said.
