Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) is looking for reliable and motivated Cooks to join our team and help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at our facilities and hostels.
Hostel Workers are required to work as part of a team, providing a high level of customer service to AHL residents, including attending to resident requests in a professional and courteous manner. Whilst regular duties will be in Cooking, successful applicants may be required from time to time perform other duties as directed by Hostel Manager or Assistant Hostel Manager to ensure a high level of service is maintained.

What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay & Benefits: $59,520 - $64,877 per annum (pro-rated for part-time). You’ll receive 15.4% superannuation, and generous leave entitlements to make sure you’re well looked after.
- Remote Locality Allowance: Employees are entitled to the payment of $6,529/annum with eligible dependants or $3,596/annum without eligible dependants.
- Generous shift penalties apply for work after hours, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities: Cook
- Preparing and serving meals in accordance with AHL’s set menus.
- Maintaining compliance with Food Safety Standards and other relevant legislation.
- Assisting with food ordering, receive and monitor food and kitchen supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and kitchen equipment.
- Preparing the dining room for meal times and clean up afterwards
What We’re Looking For:
- A passion for excellence in customer service.
- Relevant experience and qualifications are a bonus but not required
- The health and fitness to participate in an active role.
- The ability to follow procedures and work independently.
- A positive attitude and a friendly nature.
Eligibility:
- Candidates must have Australian citizenship
- Ability to get and maintain police check and a Working with Children Check.
